Postal Delays and Reprinting Cards

Recently the UK Royal Mail postal service announced that it was having large backlogs of post (mail) to clear. My own customer feedback is that International Standard Large Letter postage to the US and Canada, which should take no more than 2 weeks, is taking 4-5 weeks to arrive. Royal Mail has also stopped accepting packages for Europe. Locally, First Class next day post can take over a week to arrive.

With so many delays in postage I have temporarily suspended international sales on my Etsy site (I have removed my items from Ebay), since I am unable to provide accurate arrival dates which in turn affects my customer support when it comes to providing full refunds and replacements for lost post.

My existing international customers on Etsy:

I genuinely believe that your items will arrive, but I do not know when. In some cases I can provide refunds. I am reluctant to use my normal policy for declaring post “lost” and sending a replacement under these special circumstances, mainly due to not be able estimate when the second package will arrive. Tracking from UK to international destinations is three times the price of the usually reliable international standard large letter class. There were also practical problems with that service this year due to the Covid Pandemic, so I am unable offer tracking numbers.

Hopefully the situation will be improved in January 2021 when I hope to return to posting internationally. Thank you for your patience.

The Inked Adventures Map & Dice Playing Cards are currently being reprinted in bulk and should be available from the middle of January in my Etsy Inked Adventures store. I am overjoyed at the popularity of that product and keep hoping to restock as long as I can.

International Post Update June 2020

Inked Adventures Map & Dice Playing Cards and the Dungeon Cut-Ups Cards Pocket Edition, as sold on Etsy, are being shipped outside of Europe again.

Nearly all postal services in all countries are experiencing delays due to the pandemic. I still have a refund and replace policy, but I hope customers will allow for extra time before declaring an item as “lost”.

For US customers: Before you order please note that I’m finding that on average, international standard post, between UK and the US, is taking up to 5 weeks as opposed to the normal 2 weeks (10 working days). I can only replace or refund items well after 6 weeks have passed from time of the order. The good news is that the post is getting through, it’s just taking a lot longer than normal. International Postage Announcement

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS UPDATE 12th May 2020

Until my I know existing orders to customers in the US are actually arriving, Inked Adventures (which is UK based) will temporarily stop taking more orders for outside of Europe. This only affects the Etsy and Ebay sites from where I sell the Map & Dice Playing Cards and Pocket Edition Dungeon Cut-Ups Cards, digital downloads from DriveThruRPG are not effected. Normally I quote 10 working days for international post large-letter class items. At the moment for several customers postal delays are looking closer to more than a calendar month from UK to US. It is very difficult operate a replace or refund guarantee without knowing what is the “new normal” international post ETA is. Hopefully things will return to a “normal” normal soon. I am re-opening the Inked Adventures Etsy for selling small items. These are mainly the Map & Dice Playing Cards and the Dungeon Cut-Ups Cards (Pocket Edition).

I have now altered the way I send out post to reduce contact with counter services during the COVID19 epidemic. So I am able to continue with a limited service.

Please Note that I still have a “replace or refund” policy. However, due to the COVID-19 epidemic causing postal delays in some countries, I’m increasing the length of time to 4 weeks after the estimated arrival date
before I declare an item as “lost” and eligible for replacement or customer refund.

Etsy and Ebay stores

Inked Adventures is temporarily closing it's Etsy and Ebay store pages (setting to "holiday mode"), since I am unable fulfil orders which need to be shipped or posted. I'll be reviewing the situation in April, hopefully things will be back to normal. This mainly affects orders for the Map & Dice Playing Cards (and the Pocket Edition Dungeon Cut-Ups). Recent undispatched orders will be refunded immediately. Digital downloads will still be available as normal at DriveThruRPG.
