Xmas Easter Egg 3D Dungeon Blocks (old work)

Hi - this is my second happy merry christmas season post. I thought you might like a freebie.  It's a very old freebie and I was thinking about making a newer version for the Inked Adventures line of products, but for now you can have the old prototype with rough bits, warts and all.

You have to visit my Deviant Art gallery and there's a 6.6 MB download of some very blocky "nets" of dungeon blocks which I made a few years ago now.  The download link is in the top right hand corner.

My strange visual explanation of how doors work
in blocky dungeon world.  I'm not sure I still like
the concept of a 5x5 deep door.
Go here http://fav.me/d143jj4, if embedded thingy above isn't working.

If you like folding up cubes, I have some old monster cubes which little monsters seem to like.

I hope you're all well.

I'm still recovering from sort sort of plague-flu, so I wish upon you all good health and full ink cartridges!

Seasons Greetings from Inked Adventures

Seasons Greetings to visitors, customers and fans of Inked Adventures

I used this picture last year, but it would be wrong for a publisher of printable gaming accessories not to encourage “recycling”. ;)
Thank you again to customers and followers of Inked Adventures, and here’s wishing you all fluffy season season and nice new year. :)
I hoping to bring out new stuff just a little faster in 2012 – but the artists keep making preposterous demands, like asking for food and water.  The audacity!
(Feel free to drop by my other blog where I moan about Christmas whilst detailing seasonal special offers…)

Happy Positive Seasonalness!
World Peace, poly dice and all that.

Don’t forget to tip the gaoler on the way out.
(After all,  it is Christmas.)

Wicker Moth art in Malicious Moths by EVG

I've been working on a few commissions recently of a non-floor plan nature (hence the odd delay when choosing between my own deadlines and the deadlines of others) ;)

One fun line art piece is a "wicker moth" for the Escape Velocity Gaming's uniquely themed bestiary product: "Malicious Moths".

Buy products and donate to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders

Inked Adventures is donating two products to charity.

Profits from Evil Summonings and 3D Furniture for Dungeons sold on OneBookshelf sites (RPGNow, DriveThru et al) will now go to the Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) charity. Perhaps this will be only for a few months until I become truly evil again. ;)

If you have a Onebookshelf account you can also donate to DWB/MSF without purchasing any products by going here.

Buy 3D Furniture for Dungeons and profits go to Doctors Without Borders

Buy Evil Summinongs and profits go to Doctors Without Borders

Donate $5 to Doctors Without Borders through DriveThru

Médecins Sans Frontières MSF (Doctors Without Borders) is an independent humanitarian medical aid organisation. We are committed to providing medical aid where it is most needed, regardless of race, religion, politics or gender and also to raising awareness of the plight of the people we help.

Part of DWB/MSF recent international work includes famine aid in Somalia, and providing aid for civilian hospitals in war-torn Libya.

I'm also taking the opportunity to draw attention to the Disasters and Emergency Committee East Africa Appeal - which is primarily focussed on the refugee and famine crisis in Somalia.

Stop Press: Dryw’s Inked Adventure Tavern

Click on thumbnail to go to downloads thread on CBW
Dryw the Harper has released this tavern plan with printable hand drawn "Imperfect" minis as a free mod, using some elements of the Modular Dungeon Basic Pack whilst adding his own wonderful furniture and figures.

Check it out!

Essential tavern fun. Useful as a base for players, between dungeons or a perfect setting for an urban encounter.

Encounter Lairs 2 - w.i.p

A work in progress. A sneak peak at the pre-colour design on the chapel dungeon section for Encounter Lairs Pack 2. This chapel can be underground as part of a dungeon or used as the interior of a building.

This pack will also showcase printable figures by the talented minis-artist, Dryw the Harper (of the Cardboard Warriors Forum).

The theme will be along the lines of a secret sect of templar knights (or similar) which can either be played as good, neutral or evil. The chapel may also be suitable for an undead encounter.

The final product will be fully compatible with other Inked Adventures modular dungeon sections.

Pretty Mugs, iPad cases, Journals at Cafepress.com

(Cross-posted to Adventures and Shopping blog)

I seriously need a manager! It's the middle of the night (UK its-dark GMT time).  I've promised several people reviews.  I've promised myself and others the completion of two floor plan products.
(Edit: It is happening! New products are on their way!)  And what am I doing?  I'm trying to fill the world with more junk, through CafePress!

Not quite satisfied with my dice mugs on Deviant Art, I have turned to CafePress (Cafepress, Cafe Press ?) , who at least mock up an actual graphic of the product (which is more than DA seem to be able to do).

My Dice Mug -Billiam Babble Inked Adventures

My art lends itself well
to baby bibs. Is this
a good thing?
The expression "sell-out" doesn't even begin to cover it... but I refuse to feel guilty unless I actually start selling. ;)  Anyhow, it's a sort of 3-D home publishing.   You have to try it at least once.  I just didn't think I'd be so taken by putting a design on a baby's bib:

Orange Dinosaur Bib - art by Billiam Babble - >>

On a more RPG related note, I've been really taken in by all of the different demonstrations of iPads and tablet computers at the gaming table, so maybe I can make the iPad look more at home amongst the dice and scenarios:

(Buy the case now,
the iPad will surely follow.)

On a more practical and affordable note, these journals come with a choice of plain, lined, "task sheet" or dotted paper.  The latter would be perfect for mapping during a gaming session.  I'm definitely ordering a few for myself.

Okay, the prices are pretty high.  I've added mere pennies to the Cafepress base price.  The good news is that sometimes Cafepress run promotions - For example: this week the code is "SPRING2011" for a 15% reduction on prices for the next 7 days.  (Untested - might only work in one continent region)

More work in progress

Cross-posted from the Inked Adventures home site.

I don’t want to get too superstitious about this particular project, but perhaps it is actually cursed by the spirits of the dead.  Maybe completion will only actually occur when I shakily ink my last with one hand and Death’s bony hand is on my other. ;)    Far too many real life commitments and sparkly distractions keep me from the broken path through the Lands of the Dead!  The Tombs’ will probably be released in two parts, the work depicted here will be in the first pack – a sort of “upper crypt” and the second pack will be more “dirt and skulls”.  The picture here is of the pre-colour preparations.  I hope players don’t mind the odd repeated flagstone.

Crypts, Tombs and Catacombs will be compatible with the Basic Pack (on DriveThruRPG).

Thanks for reading.  -Bb-.  :)

PS. Posting is slow here.  Feel free to check out my other blog: Adventures & Shopping.

Bases for Card Minis

Special cut-out flagstone-style bases for cardboard minis are now available to download in a zip pack on the Onebookshelf sites http://bit.ly/IAbases - Ideal for use with minis on sections from the Modular Cut-Up Dungeons Basic Pack.

These are by no means a definitive choice of base for paper modellers.  In some forthcoming packs ("Encounter-Lair" working title) which include cardboard miniatures, different styles and assemblage may be included in the range.

Thanks for browsing. Bb. :)

Inked Adventures Products for Spring and Summer 2011

(After further failure to import an xml file to blogger I will now manually pasting posts from http://inkedadventures.com/main/ ! )

Announcements and News - reassurance that a quiet site does not mean the cog wheels of card have stopped in the machina-creativa-chaotica ... whirr-fold-whirr ... Forthcoming Products spiel:
The Crypts, Tombs and Catacombs pack is now going to be published as two Modular Section expansion packs (as opposed to one small fixed mini-map set). The first will be an "upper level" set of standard gothic style pieces, including some 3D and 2.5D scenery, the second will be a skull lined lower level set of highly detailed "dirt and bones". The decision to split the pack is partly to have releasable product as-soon-as-possible and partly to keep the prices down.
Plans are afoot to publish several Encounter-Lair packs (working title). These will include a one page printable floor plan of an area, perhaps a special dungeon room, a forest clearing, a cave; along with a set of cut-out fantasy miniatures (25-30mm). The plans will be compatible with other Modular Dungeon Sections (using a 1inch grid) This is in collaboration with talented mini artists, some of whom can be found loitering on the Cardboard Warriors Forum.
Dungeon dressings of a 3D nature are slated for a dungeon furniture pack, containing a table, chair, feast bench, chest, boxes, a bed and shelves - all in a hand drawn illustrative style, suited perfectly for use with Inked Adventures dungeon sections.
Also planned, is a set of tiles in homaging popular fixed-wall dungeon board games of yesteryear - this is in collaboration with modeller, reviewer, game designer and web personality, Mortis-of-Midian of the Lost and the Damned Forum. All will become clear soon!
I've received many suggestions and custom modifications to the existing products, which I hope to share with the wider world on my support page, along with requests for specific packs - inns, forests, wizard's towers - which may become a reality once some of the above projects are completed. This, along with small improvements to current packs (free to prior customers). I'm toying with the idea of a pack containing 6x6 square tiles with a dungeon generator system, time willing. So here's a productive year! I may also be releasing stock-art for game publishers through the Inked Adventures store. Broke artist needs money for paper and datapens...
